My puppy has stifle laxity. Can future patellar luxation be treated?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Aussie Doodle | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 20 days old | 9 lbs

Our pup was diagosed with a mild laxity palpated on the stifles, but no apparent luxation. If it builds to anything in the future, is that treatable? What is that procedure known as?

This is called patellar luxation. It may or may not cause any future issues. Here is a link to an article about this problem. Is this is 7 week old puppy? If so, I think it is too early to diagnose something like this. ( https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/luxating-patella-in-dogs )
