My puppy has stifle laxity. Can future patellar luxation be treated?

Our pup was diagosed with a mild laxity palpated on the stifles, but no apparent luxation. If it builds to anything in the future, is that treatable? What is that procedure known as? Pet's info: Dog | Aussie Doodle | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 20 days old | 9 lbs
