Why is my budgie sleeping more, has dark poop, and not drinking?

Hi, I was wondering if you can help at all? My budgie is sleeping more than normal, has dark faeces, he doesn’t drink too much and when he eats he goes between his seed and the grit. He usually gets a cold when I get one, but is able to get rid of it ok and I’m not sure he’s getting enough sleep during the night. He would get too stressed out if I were to take him to a vets as he’s never been outside the house. He is about 10 years old. Thanks. Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male

Thanks for reaching out about Henry. Providing heat support in the 80-85 F range can give some aid. A diet in seed is very deficient in vitamins and minerals, and protein. If this is a metabolic disorder, neoplasia or other, a veterinary visit is needed to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Good luck.
