What are these bumps on my pit bull's lips? Could it be staph?

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | 80 lbs

I have a 1 year old red nose pit male and he has these bumps on his lips. My friend said it was staph infection.

While it's difficult to say for certain if it is a staph infection I agree that it looks bacterial, but a fungal infection could look very similar. Skin infections in this area can occur secondary to irritation so make sure you use a glass or stainless steel bowl and clean it frequently. Allergies would be another possibility. This looks fairly severe in your picture - I'd recommend seeing your vet in person to determine if oral antibiotics are needed.
