What are these bumps on my pit bull's lips? Could it be staph?

I have a 1 year old red nose pit male and he has these bumps on his lips. My friend said it was staph infection. Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | 80 lbs

While it's difficult to say for certain if it is a staph infection I agree that it looks bacterial, but a fungal infection could look very similar. Skin infections in this area can occur secondary to irritation so make sure you use a glass or stainless steel bowl and clean it frequently. Allergies would be another possibility. This looks fairly severe in your picture - I'd recommend seeing your vet in person to determine if oral antibiotics are needed.
