My dog had a 1-hour seizure. Was putting her to sleep right?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) | Female | spayed | 10 years and 3 months old | 2.2 lbs

Hi I took my dog to the vets with a seizure lasting more than 1 hour she only weighed 2ibs the vet rang and said she was in pain and needed to be put to sleeep as not responding I went she had vertigo before hand she was stood up up head tilt and a twitched to side of head when a dog barked her ears were big staring out not moving eventually the vet put her to sleep her advise did I do right as the epeleptic seizure became more frequent before hand and she said my dog was terminal?

I am so sorry that happened. A seizure that lasts more than an hour can cause significant brain damage. If they could not get the seizures under control and they kept getting worse I do believe you did the right thing. We have the ability to relieve pets of their pain and suffering and we have the ability to help them pass without having to get to the worst parts of disease. You loved Lulu very much and this was something you can do for her so she doesn't suffer. I am so sorry and I wish you healing in your time of pain.
