Forgot my dog's Omeprazole for upset stomach. Can I give it late?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 5 years and 5 months old

Two nights ago my dog started taking Omeprazole for an upset stomach. He’s suppose to take it 2 hours before bed and tonight I totally forgot. We are just getting ready for bed so he should have taken it 3 hours ago. He is supppse to take it for 5 nights in a row. I’m wondering if I should skip tonight and wait for tomorrow night or if I should give it to him now?

I would probably go ahead and give the dose now - the timing usually isn't critical for this medication. If you are giving any other medications at the same time the recommendation might be different since omeprazole might change the absorption of some other medications.
