My dog throws up water immediately, vet found no blockage, bilirubin?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 6 months old | 80 lbs

My dog keeps vomiting every time he drinks water, within a minute. We went to a vet and they didn't see any blockages in his GI tract. they said his bloodwork came back normal but his urine had 2+ bilirubin in it.

The next thing to consider would be an abdominal ultrasound and potentially considering gastroscopy (endoscopic examination of the upper GI tract). A barium study might also be useful when doing x-rays to see what the barium does as it moves through the GI tract. I hope this helps!
