My dog ate a donut and is shaking and throwing up. What to do?

Hi my chug has randomly started shaking and has bein sick once today he eat a 3 day old doughnut out of the bin and now this

This vomiting could be due to eating this donut. I can give you a home remedy for him to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.

I hate to hear that Blu Bear is sick. Eating 8 doughnuts will do that to him. If he seems to be really miserable or if his gums are dry to the touch, I would advise to take him into the veterinarian tonight. The doctor can give him an injection to stop vomiting and some subcutaneous fluids to dehydrate him. If he seems relatively happy and his gums are nice and moist, offer him only very small amount of water and no food until morning. Feed him boiled chicken and white rice for the next 3 days. If he is still sick tomorrow morning, take him into the vet for treatment. I hope this helps!

Oh my, that was naughty of him to eat all that! Luckily the Oreos won't contain a lot of chocolate, and if the donut wasn't chocolate either, there wouldn't be a concern about chocolate toxicity. The concern is the sugar content, which can and does cause GI upset. I can give you a home remedy to try if you see any GI upset in the form of vomiting. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. I would monitor your dog for now and try a home remedy to see if that helps with the vomiting. Sometimes, a dog will have a GI illness and it can be treated without having to take him to the vet. If the home remedy doesn't work, then the dog likely has a more serious illness, like eating something rotten, a foreign body, or pancreatitis, and then your dog should see a vet. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. My dog is shaking and kind of gagging/dry heaving and he has thrown up today.. any ideas?
This may be from eating something he should not have that is irritating his stomach or a viral or bacterial infection I would suspect these are all related and the shaking is simply the nausea and him feeling bad. you can try to withhold food and water for 4 hours then introduce boiled chicken and rice or peidalyte or Gatorade and see how he handles that. If the vomiting continues or you notice bloody diarrhea, then I would get him seen right away.
