My dogs tied. Is clear liquid after mating normal during breeding?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 10 months old | 55 lbs

I’m breeding my female dog and I have a stud here and they tied together for 10 mins but when they untied a bunch of clear liquid came out all over the floor is that normal ?

Hello. Yes, that is perfectly normal. There is a fair amount of accessory fluids that are produced during the mating interval & some may spill after the dogs uncouple. Do not worry & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

    If she will allow, you can hold her until he has mounted. The only concern for injury is if she starts moving or pulling away during the tie. The clear liquid was likely the first stage of his ejaculate. Don't worry, there is little to no sperm in this portion.

After 1 day of mating, a grey coloured fluid is coming out of the uterus. Is it normal?
No, I would not say this is normal after 1 day. I would keep an eye on her and make sure that she does otherways look well in herself. This is all quite normal during mating. Be sure to keep them segregated after mating to prevent frequent mating which can be traumatic for both, repeat mating in 48hours is generally considered optimal

I had a Male dog here for a week to breed he left Sunday they got stuck multiple times im worried because shes still bleeding
Hello. If she willingly tied with the male several times, then hopefully she has conceived. The blood may just be a little excess left over from her proestrus or even a little blood that had pooled in her vaginal vault. This should subside over the next few days, but if it increases or just does not seem to be resolving, you may have to have her checked by your vet. It is unusual, but sometimes the delicate tissues of the cervix can be bruised or torn a bit during intromission. Usually, even this resolves on its own over time & will not affect a pregnancy, so have this checked if the bleeding persists beyond a few more days. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

I am sorry for the delay in answering your question. As dogs come into heat, initially a bloody discharge is seen. Then usually about 1-2 weeks later that discharge becomes more yellow in color, and that is when they are receptive to a male dog. They tend to accept the male for 1-2 weeks, and a yellowish discharge can be normal, though it should not be in very large amounts. So I don't think what you are describing is completely abnormal, especially if she is eating, isn't lethargic or acting sick. Hello, Dogs can tie and untie normally while mating. Pulling away may be a sign she is uninterested. If the male dog's penis is stuck outside of the sheath, that may be a medical emergency. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Based on your pictures I wouldn't call it heavy bleeding. Dogs mate when the female is in heat (during bleeding). Breeding may have triggered some blood that had been pooling. I wouldn't worry unless it continues or she is lethargic. But yes, she can still get pregnant. Good luck!

My puppy was just spayed on Monday and yesterday and today her vagina is literally leaking very clear, odorless and water like fluid. So much a few times I thought it was pee at first. She seems normal otherwise and is playful, eating and drinking
Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question. This may be vaginal discharge, and vaginal discharge can be common. It can also be that discharge from the vagina can be a sign of an infection called vaginitis. Now this would be much more worrying if there was pus or blood in the discharge, or if she was lethargic, not eating, and not drinking. Given that she is acting normally, it's fine to wait to take her into the vet to get this checked out on Tuesday (after the Monday holiday). If this discharge appears bloody, contains pus, she becomes lethargic, or she stops eating and drinking, have her seen by an ER vet immediately. I hope this helps.

My 8 week old lab has a weird liquid on his wiener. Sometimes after he goes pee I'll pick him up and find a milky unclear liquid on his wiener. it just looks like milk with a hint of yellow. could this be a problem?
This is normal. As long as he’s urinating normally, acting normal, eating and drinking, no vomiting or diarrhea, there is no reason for concern. The amount will increase some as he gets older, then decrease following surgery to neuter him. Thanks for asking Boop by Petco!
