My cat is breathing heavily and not acting herself. What's wrong?

My 4 or 5 year old cat started to breathe heavily and shes not acting like herself. She usually just wants to be outside and wants nothing to do with people but all shes been doing today is sleeping in my room unless its for food, water, or to go to the litter box. Shes also extremely affectionate. Thanks for your help!

It could be Noelle is sick. I would keep a close eye on her tonight and if she still acting this way in the morning, have her seen by a vet. Rush her into an ER vet right away if she starts having trouble breathing.

As i said uh in my last question that nancy is drooling and now she stopped droling and she is hiding herself and looks very week and dull she is not evn giving me response when i call her name ....and it's looking like she is breathing in a differen
Without seeing Nancy in person, I can't say for certain what is wrong with her, but she could be nauseous, sick, or in pain causing her symptoms. Breathing in a different manner indicates illness as well as pain. I'd take her into a vet now to get checked out. Best of luck.

My cat is breathing heavy, coughing, and is hardly eating. Not sure what to do?
It sounds like Chassi needs to be examined by the veterinarian quickly. Changes in respiratory pattern in cats can indicate an emergency and there's not way to tell without an exam. Heavy breathing could be due to pneumonia, asthma, a tumor in the lungs or fluid in the chest. She will need a physical exam and likely radiographs. I recommend to play ti safe and have her examined quickly. I hope this helps.

My cat is breathing hard, kind of labored breathing and he isn’t acting like himself. He is hiding a lot and barely eats, especially his favorite food. He was dry heaving last night but never vomited.
I'm sorry that Mo isn't feeling well! I recommend having him seen by a vet as soon as possible to determine what is going on. Trouble breathing is considered a medical emergency, and Mo should be seen immediately if you believe this is happening. Labored breathing in cats can be caused by pain, lung issues, or obstructions. My cat isn’t able to breathe very well she struggles when she’s just resting
Oh my. I would highly recommend taking Bella to your local vet right away! This is a medical emergency and there could be a number of underlying causes here including: bacterial pneumonia, underlying heart disease or an upper airway infection. She needs a full physical exam and treatment based on the underlying cause. I would take her in asap. This isn't something that you can help her with at home. My cat last night had a very weird moment were he was breathing heavily and seems like he couldnt get air he's been very sluggish and sleeping alot.
Poor Salem! It does sound like he is sick, and his symptoms could be caused by a respiratory illness, heart disease, heartworms, or cancer among other causes. It's quite serious when a cat is struggling to breathe, and should that happen again tonight, I would have him seen by a vet immediately. Otherwise, monitor him tonight, and take him into the vet first thing in the morning. The vet can diagnose what is causing his symptoms, and can treat him for them.

Oh no. Poor girl. Breathing issues in any pet should be investigated to find out what the cause is first. We can't help unless we know what is causing this. I would highly recommend taking her to your nearest vet for a proper exam +/- radiographs, if indicated, to hopefully diagnose the underlying problem and get her treatment right away. If this happened all of a sudden, I suspect she may have asthma and in need of immediate treatment, so its best to get her seen quickly. This can be a sign of a respiratory infection, but in a senior cat, it can also be a sign of heart disease. If possible, I'd take Heidi into a vet now. Otherwise, rest her, keep her indoors if she's allowed outside, keep her comfortable, and get her into a vet tomorrow. I hope this helps.

Poor Ora! She needs to be examined by a vet as soon as possible to determine the cause and treat. She could have an infection, asthma, heart disease, etc. and your vet can take an x-ray, if needed, to help diagnose and then determine the best treatment plan. IF she is having trouble breathing then you should take her to an emergency clinic tonight so treatment can be started. Hope she feels better soon!
