My cat has bloody stool after overeating. Should I be worried?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 7 months and 1 day old

Blood in stool! This was my cat's poo this evening. I am going to make a vet appointment ASAP, but I don't know how much I should panic! She did get into her food bag tonight and perhaps ate too much. She often has softer stool, but not this color or with blood. She also usually poos outside of the litterbox, so this is not new (I'm working on that problem) Besides the poo, she seems her normal, curious self, maybe slightly less cuddly, but her sister might be influencing that behavior!

There is a little bit of blood but not an excessive amount, so I wouldn't get too worried just yet. It could be from overeating, but yes have Lilo seen by a vet for it. It's not an emergency since she is otherwise fine, you can wait until the morning to have her seen.
