Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 7 years and 10 months old | 10 lbs
I switched my cat's litter box from clay to wood pellets. I transitioned very slowly and it worked because he was using it just fine with the new litter. Lately, he started using the bathroom on the floor. I'm guessing he realized he just doesn't like the new litter anymore? Well idk what to do because this is the second time he peed outside the litter box but it doesn't make sense to me because he was using it for 2 weeks before just fine. Should I start cleaning it everyday? Any options? HELP!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Dusty. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian to ensure that he does not have a medical problem. If he is healthy, then it is more likely a behavioral issue. Yes, I recommend scooping his box daily. You should one litter box per cat plus one. So that means two boxes for one or three boxes if you have two cats. Most cats prefer large litter boxes and ones that are uncovered. I hope this information helps!
