My puppy is pregnant. Will she be a good mother and are puppies safe?

It isn't ideal to get pregnant so young; however, she can still do it and this will not affect her growth in any way. Once labor starts it can be up to 4 hours in between puppies. If there are heavy contractions and pushing after 30 minutes with no puppy then you need to seek help for her. If there is a black or brown discharge, you need to seek help. She is very young to have puppies but most have good maternal instincts and their bodies take over when it all starts. once the puppies come, make sure she cleans them and nurses. They need to stay warm. If she is not sitting with and nursing then you will need to bottle feed. it is best to start preparing a place for her to deliver that way she gets used to it. You can set up a small bed with blankets in a quiet spot that way she can have privacy when it starts.

Since she appears to be far along in her pregnancy, I wouldn't advise terminating the pregnancy at this point. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Lulu! I am not sure if I fully understand Lulu's anxiety. It is strange behavior to only chew on herself when she is eating. Maybe she has more allergies and is itchy than anxious? Being mother in animals is instinctual. Most dogs make very good mothers. Her anxiety isn't a predictor whether she will or will not be. I would watch her very carefully after the puppies are born. If there are signs of aggression towards the puppies then you will have to hand raise them with dog milk replacer in bottles. As each pup is born, the mom should cut the cord by "scissoring" it with her teeth. If she does not, tie dental floss about four inches from the pup, and at five inches from the pup.
