My cat threw up after topical flea medicine. Is this normal?

My 8 month old cat is threw up after I gave him flea meds in between shoulder blades? Is this normal?

No, this is not normal. You did not say which product you used. Some are more likely to cause reactions than others (like Hartz or Seargants). I suggest you use some Dawn dishsoap and wash it all off of him immediately.
