Rats are notorious for getting tumors. That is what this looks like however, the location of me makes me worry it could be some sort of prolapse. You will need to get her to a vet for an exam so you can get a diagnosis and then know how to go about treating her.

    Rats are prone to tumors, and so it is possible that Aim has one in her armpit. There are vets who will see rats, so I'd recommend calling around local clinics to see if there is a vet who will see her. Sometimes, the tumors can be removed surgically, so that may be an option worth exploring.

This large lump may be a tumor , an abscess or a hernia. Mammary gland tumors are quite common in rats. I would recommend a hands on exam at your veterinarian to determine if it is a tumor or a hernia or an abscess and then to discuss treatment options

My rat Nessie has a big lump near her tail
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This may be a benign or malignant growth. This could even be an infection. This cannot be completely assessed just by looking at pictures and usually requires sampling such as fine needle aspiration to determine its origin. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. My rat (male, about 18 months old) has a little lump on one of his ears which looks like a clump of fat and skin. Should I be worried?
It appears to be a wart from the photo but rats tend to have a lot of tumor growth so I would suggest you take him to a vet for a checkup. They would be able to give you a better idea of what it is with an examination. I hope this helps! He's really adorable!

My pet rat has a lump on the side of his stomach
This could be an abscess, a hernia or a tumor. Unfortunately tumors are common in rats, so if this started small and then grew to this size over time, it is likely a tumor. A tumor in this area is relatively easy to remove if you don't let it get too big, as the surgeon needs enough healthy skin to close the wound again after surgery. A hernia can be easily repaired surgically. You can check whether it is a hernia by gently pressing on the lump and if you can make it disappear into the abdomen, it is a hernia. An abscess will need to be lanced and your rat will need antibiotics. I suggest you schedule an appointment with a veterinarian soon.

about 12 hours ago i noticed a lump about the size of a walnut on the side of my two year old rat, I'm pretty sure it's a tumor as it's under the skin. it hasn't noticeably effected her in any way and I don't have much money to take her to the vet as
Hi there. Sorry to hear that Rosie is having this issue. Any lump on your pet should be checked by a vet . I can tell you that rats get a lot of tumors so I am assuming it is a tumor. She is at the top of her lifespan already at 2 years old. They don't typically live longer than that. She has a GIANT lump in between her two back legs. And i mean HUGE... we dont ahve the money to bring her toa vet that takes rats because those are really expensive. Its a very hard kump, but it doesnt hurt her when i touch it or anything, She still
There are a couple of possibilities for what the lump is on Muffin. It could be a mammary tumor, or and abscess. The only way you will be able to definitively tell which it is is to take her to a veterinarian for a fine needle aspirate, where the vet will stick a needle into the lump and look at the collected cells under the microscope. Either way she will likely need surgery to remove it, and there is a chance that it is too big, or in a risky location for surgery. If she is otherwise well in herself then you can continue to monitor her and look for signs of her being uncomfortable. However if she stops eating, drinking, acts lethargic or starts having trouble moving due to the lump then she needs to see a veterinarian as it has become a quality of life issue and she may need to be euthanized.

I have a pet rat and she has this giant lump in her stomach that has been growing for a month now. She look malnourished even though she eats all the time. And I don’t know what to do.
This lump/bump/growth should be ideally examined by your local vet to have a diagnosis established. Your vet may want to perform an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy to sample the bump and determine its underlying nature. Differentials would include skin cysts, infections, benign or more malignant type of tumors. My rat has had what I think is a beniegn mammary tumor for some time now. It was small (maybe 3/4 in.) This morning it had blown up to what seems like twice the size it was and is now hard, and she was most definitely in pain, what is going on?
This may indeed be a mammary tumor that is growing very fast all of a sudden. It could have also broken through into the abdomen and caused a hernia, it could also "just" be a hernia, an abscess or a cyst. Please take Joker to your veterinarian for an exam. A tumor can often be removed, and abscesses and cysts can be emptied. Your vet will also give Joker some pain medicine.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Gilrat. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. A procedure known as a fine needle aspirate is typically performed when a pet has a mass present. A small needle is used to collect a sample of cells to evaluate under the microscope. This allows the doctor to tell you the type of mass and if treatment is required for him. My rat has a very unusual lump growing around it’s bottom region, it is different from the normal tumours as it’s red in colour and the skin is very thin almost like a sack
Without seeing it i can't really tell you what it it is but as she is a female rat and considering her age it is most likely a mammary gland tumor, these are considered benign but if not removed surgically they become huge very fast and your rat won't be able to cope with it at some point, my recommendation is to have it removed surgically ASAP.
