Is my dog's cough and hoarse bark a sign of recurring bronchitis?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Male | neutered | 12 years old | 30 lbs

Boston coughs fairly often and his bark is high pitch sounding almost like hoarseness would sound like. About 2 months ago Boston was treated for bronchitis with medical the vet put in his nostrils. Should I be concerned. Thanks

Hi, and thanks for your question. This sign could be compatible with an upper respiratory tract inflammation/infection or possibly to a recurrence of bronichitis (inflammatory, allergic, infective). A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed.
