Dog's nail torn, still attached, and the quick is hanging out. What to do?

My dog tore her nail off but part is still attached the meat of the nail is hanging out also what should I do?

Ouch! Ideally, she should be seen by your veterinarian to remove the nail and address the paw. It will likely be painful, so sedation may be necessary. A bandage may be applied after the area is cleaned. Antibiotics and pain medications may also be indicated. Place an e-collar (cone) on her to prevent licking until she sees the doctor.

    Broken nail has to be removed or cut as short as possible. Usually is done by a vet because can be quite painful and in some cases may require a light sedation. If the broken area is very close to the nail bed, it can get easily infected, so has to be cleaned properly and, if there are sign of infection, a course of antibiotics is required.
