Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 1 day old | 9.4 lbs

Hello, my 2 month old Labrador puppy has a swollen eye. It appeared suddenly. He keep swiping his paws over his eyes and i suspect it's painful as well. There is also a whitish discharge at the corners of his eyelids similar to what humans get. The vet is not available today. Please guide me with what i should do.

Hi, and thanks for your question. That is probably due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well. A buster collar would be essential to avoid any self inflicted damage.
