Dog has roundworms, sleepy, hiccups. Is metronidazole the right drug?

My dog pooped out round worms today morning and feel asleep aftr that. Doctor prescribed him metronidazolde benzoate oral suspension ip. He also has hicups. Is their something wrong. Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | 1 month and 8 days old

Hello. No, this sounds pretty normal for a puppy ( many will experience bouts of hiccups ). However, metronidazole is an antibiotic & will do nothing for the roundworms. Ask your vet about this & make sure Hachiko receives something like pyrantel pamoate to remove all the roundworms from her GI tract. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
