Dog acting weird, humping, vomiting after mating. Is she pregnant?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog has been having some weird behavior after she has mated on 1-25-20 and maybe a couple days after she has been panting and trying to hump my other female dog who has mated on 1-22-20 as I'm writing this she is doing it right now I hope you will explain what this mean and if she might be having sign of pregnancy? Oh and she threw up yellow-ish stuff I think a day or two after mating. Thank you :)

The mounting may simulate be dominance behavior and likely is unrelated to mating or pregnancy. It is too early to determine if she is indeed pregnant or not. You will need to have her physically examined by your veterinarian in about 4 weeks. At that time, your vet can confirm pregnancy via palpation, blood test or abdominal x-ray or ultrasound. The vomiting may be unrelated as well. If it was just once and she is behaving normally now, there is likely no cause for concern. If she continues to vomit, have her seen sooner by your veterinarian.
