Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 8 years and 7 months old | 45 lbs
My 11 yrs old Pit showed symptoms of Leptospirosis. She was 3 weeks from her annual booster. Lethargy, jaundiced ears, eyes and tongue. Normal water intake, diminished appetite, fever, chills etc. She declined quickly. Rushed her to the vet. All tests for liver, kidney, AND Leptospirosis came back negative. She's on an antibiotic regimen now and slowly improving. What the heck could this be?!

There are many things this could be: * tick fever * liver disease (even with normal blood values they can have liver disease) * immune mediated disease causing destruction of red blood cells * a toxicity of some kind Those are the ones that come to mind right away. I'm glad she is improving but more testing would be needed to figure this out. As long as she is headed in the right direction, keep on with your vet's treatment and be sure to follow up with them.
