Bunny has mange on paws, in pain. What pain relief is safe?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 11 days old | 6 lbs

My bunny has mange on her feet and a very small amount of her ears. She was given ivermectin but the vet refused to give her anything to help with her pain. He isnt a professional but he is the only one where I am. She is in pain. She doesn't move around much since her paws are the issue. She will flick them and groom them excessively. She is on her 3 day of ivermectin. She had revolution 2 weeks ago but I'm not sure it helped much. Please could you kindly reccomend anything for her to take.

I have to admit that i have never needed to give pain killers to a rabbit suffering from mange, even in very severe cases but if you think she is in pain take her back to your vet and ask them to prescribe Metacam which is the only safe option for rabbits. give it some time, the treatment takes 3-4 weeks for the condition to clear up, Revolution is not always effective but Ivermectin is and will resolve the condition 100%
