Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Female | spayed | 1 year old | 25 lbs
Oh hey, Dr. Melanie, question. You know I want to breed Mía and Asher until the age of 3. I want to make sure Mía is ready. I’m most concerned about her mental maturity. Is there anything my vet can do to help guide me? Will they know if she will be fit enough to have puppies? Etc.

It's very hard to gauge a dog's mental maturity because they can't speak, but as a rule of thumb, it's fine to breed a dog on their second heat because that it believed to be the point at which the dog is both physically and mentally mature. I hope this helps!
