Why is my 14-year-old green cheek conure limping after a nail trim?

Pet's info: Bird | Conure | Male | 14 years and 7 months old

Hello, I have a 14 year old green cheek conure. He had his nails clipped about 3 weeks ago. We just noticed a week ago that he has been limping and is using his right foot now. He is always open and does not have his wings clipped only goes in his cage to sleep at night.

Thanks for reaching out about Columbo. It is unlikely that a nail trim problem would manifest two weeks later. Trauma to the foot/toe is possible from simple falls. If limping a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Fractures need to be stabilized in order the heal. if a sprain/strain, analgesia can help recovery. Good luck.
