Just got a puppy. How do I estimate his age and feeding requirements?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered

I I recently got Rex. He was being given away for free and I couldn’t pass him up. They said he is a husky/chow mix and said he is 3 months old but I feel like he is a lot younger. I was trying to find out if you could estimate his age and maybe tell me how much to feed him and how many times I should.

It's really difficult to determine an age based on a picture - examining a puppy in person and looking at the teeth can help but sometimes it is still a guess. If he were 3 months or under I'd recommend feeding three times a day as much as he wants to eat in 15 minutes.
