How to get Comfortis for cat fleas? Is a vet prescription required?

My cats have fleas that i have not been able to get rid of. Comfortis is the only thing i haven’t tried. I can’t put topical meds on my cats because one of them has dermatitis. is there a way to get comfortis without a prescription? if not, how would i get a prescription from a vet and would it cost money to get the prescription? i have very limited funds, thank you. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 years old | 10 lbs
