Why is my dog licking privates, sleeping a lot, and has red, dry paws?

I've noticed Loki (pitbull and husky mix) is licking his privates a lot lately. He also is sleeping an ton. I think he's depressed, but I also think something is going on with his stomach and digestion. Another thing is his paws...should we get him groomed ? What does a healthy paw look like? and are loki's? Why is there redness around his paw pads and dryness on them? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 80 lbs

It sounds like Loki is experiencing multiple issues and because of that, I recommend to have him examined. Just like people, there are many things that can make pets feel sick and it could range from something simple to something serious. Licking his genitals more can indicate pain, an infection, urine crystals and several other problems. Regarding his paws, they look dry and I think I see the redness (though the color on the photo may be off). Watch him closely to make sure he is not excessively licking his paws which can indicate infection, allergies or autoimmune condition. For dry skin, you can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health.
