Should I move my anxious cat immediately or wait to settle in?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 4 years and 8 months old | 12 lbs

Briggs & I have moved 3 times this year because of a divorce. I am moving again back to our house he knows. Should I take him then or leave him with my current roommate for a week and then take him? Briggs is an easily excited cat. My ex was super hyper but Briggs has mellowed out quite a bit. I feel it would be better to have him with me than leave him then scoop him up??

It would probably be best to get the house settled down first and then bring Briggs. If he likes and is comfortable with your roommate and if your roommate doesn't mind, this is a good solution. I hope this helps.
