Why does my 7-year-old Shih Tzu dog have bad breath at night?

My shiz thz has bad breath,especially at night, she is 7 years old.. at nights she licks her upper liip. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | 7 years and 7 months old | 14 lbs
