My cat has stomatitis. Is human Benadryl safe or other OTC meds?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 5 lbs

My cat has stomatitis is there any over the counter human medicine I can give him? I have 12.5/5 ml children's Benadryl but not sure if I can give it to him. Please help thanks

Hello, sorry to hear about Cole. Stomatitis is an immune mediated diseased that requires suppression of the immune system as well as antibiotics for secondary oral infection, and finally pain medications as this condition is severely painful. Unfortunately, Benadryl does not provide any of these properties. It would be best if Cole is seen by his primary care veterinarian for this condition and gets the adequate medications.
