My dog's skin lesion isn't healing, vet is stumped. What's next?

Pet's info: Dog | Chesapeake Bay Retriever | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 29 days old | 50 lbs

Wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like this. Took him to the local vet, they said they've never seen it before put us on 7 days of an antibiotic and to come back if it doesnt get better. Day 4 and no progress

That is an odd looking lesion. If you haven't noticed any improvement with the antibiotics, it could not bacterial in nature or it could be a bacteria with antibiotic resistance. I recommend to have Oakley examined again. A few potential causes could be fungus (including ringworm which humans can get) or a foreign object trapped under the skin. Ask your vet about fungal testing or treatment for fungal infection. A biopsy is another option. I hope this helps to provide some guidance and please feel free to post any additional testing.
