What are the signs of pyometra in my older unspayed female dog?

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 8 years and 9 months old | 95 lbs

Dahlia is almost 9. Could not get fixed. We signed an agreement. What are the signs of pyometra?

Increased thirst and urination, decreased appetite, lethargy and abdominal pain are the signs of a pyometra where the cervix is closed. If the cervix is open you might see vulvar discharge. You may want to relay your concerns about pyometra to the other party in the agreement - Dahlia is too old for breeding at this point and it seems unusual that someone wouldn't want her to be spayed when pyometra is a real risk.
