My weak, sick bearded dragon can't climb. Where to put him in tank?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Bearded Dragon | Male | unneutered | 0.5 lbs

My 4month bearded dragon is weak having trouble climbing in the cage. I am assuming it is from lack of calcium and D3 because I hadnt been giving him supplements. I did just get some Repta-Boost. Being that he can't climb should I leave him in neutral ground between the cold and hot side of tank since he doesnt want to move much right now?

If he is weak, then yes, remove any climbing branches to prevent falls. You can soak him in a warm 50/50 solution of water and unflavored PediaLyte. This will provide warmth and may treat or prevent minor dehydration. Repta-Boost is an excellent supplement, however you should still provide a powdered multivitamin and calcium supplement. Also, replace the UVB light if it is old.
