My dog is sick after flea drops. Is it a bad reaction? What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 30 lbs

We have been trying to treat our dog for fleas he is 8 and about 30 pounds. We put sentry flea drops on him and he stopped eating and drinking and was like falling over and having trouble walking, so we washed him off with dawn but he is the same. We got him to eat some wet food but he can’t jump up on our couch are walk straight.

Stick needs to be examined by the veterinarian. It's possible this is a reaction to the flea product but it could be coincidental and be related to getting into something, liver disease or a systemic infection. Have him examined today. I hope they figure it out quickly.
