Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 2 years old
My female dog mated yesterday. After how long will she give birth? And can we spay/neuter her right now or next month? And I heard the healing after spaying takes longer time in winters. Can we still get it done? And if not spaying then are there any pills to prevent having birth?

Average gestation in dogs is 63 days. There is no way to determine if Brownienis even pregnant until about 4 weeks after the last mating. She can be spayed now if you choose. Seasons do not affect healing time. There are medi ations that can be given to prevent pregnancy after an accidental or unwanted mating. You would need to have her seen by your veterinarian today. Typically, a 5 day course of a specific hormone is dispensed.
