New bird quarantine: Is my existing bird already exposed to illness?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | unneutered

so I have had jet vac for about 4 months now and I just bought a new bird last week. I've kept them in separate cages since I got her but I heard that they should be in separate rooms. I've had the new bird for 4 days now. is it to late to move her case she is sick or would my other already have anything she might have?

Thanks for reaching out. Quarantining new acquisitions is recommended for a 30 day period. The further separated the better. New birds should be assessed by a veterinarian to determine health prior to introduction. Diet and husbandry practices can be reviewed at this time. Good luck.
