How to make my dog stop rubbing his face when wearing a head halter?

My dog has a halti and he hates it. He rubs his face on everything and he tries to get it off. I've tried different types of dog collars and I've tried training him without it but he pulls pretty bad so I dont want to take it off of him. He's had it for over a year now. How can I make him stop rubbing his face and help him not mind it? Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | neutered | 7 years and 7 months old | 16 lbs

Confirm proper fit. This can be done by a trainer, at the store where purchased or maybe by your veterinarian. Praise and reward him consistently when he is wearing it properly. Keep him distracted and engaged to take his mind off of it. There are other halter collars, such as the Gentle Leader, that may be more comfortable for him.
