Do cat roundworms stick to the anus or only pass in their poop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

When a cat has roundworms, do the roundworms stick around the cats anus/bottom like how tapeworm segments do? Or do roundworms only come out in feces?

No, they don't stick to the rectum like tapeworm segments. The roundworm eggs are passed in the stool and are then passed on to other animals. Occasionally, you may see roundworms in the stool or a cat may vomit up roundworms.
