What vaccines does my adult dog need and how often are they given?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 2 years and 1 month old | 90 lbs

Which Vaccines does my adult dog need and how often? And does it matter if they're given separately or in a combo vaccine? I'm in Little Rock, AR. Does the fact that we go to the dog park frequently and my neighbors dogs are unvaccinated determine which vaccines my dog needs? I read about rotating Vaccines each year, is that true and safe? Which one's?

Henry needs a Rabies vaccine. This is given every 3 years if he has had one in the past. It is the first of 2 core vaccines all dogs should have. The distemper/parvovirus combination vaccine is the second core vaccine all dogs should receive. This is a yearly vaccine, but there is a 3 year vaccine available. Optional, or lifestyle, vaccines are given based on risk of exposure. They include Bordatella (kennel cough), Lyme disease, Canine Flu and Leptospirosis. These are yearly vaccines. You can discuss the best vaccine protocol for Henry with your veterinarian.
