My conure won't step up in her cage. Is she cage aggressive?

Pet's info: Bird | Conure | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 5 days old | 1lb

Hi. My 9 month old conure will step up when she’s outside the cage but never in the cage. I have no trouble getting her back in the cage. I let her on my shoulders and she plays with toys around my neck. She’s talking a little now. We have fun singing and playing, etc. however, I just finished reading “a guide to a well behaved parrot” and it says she’s only to go in and out the cage on

Thanks for reaching out about Jojo. Many birds can be cage protective and will not step up from inside the cage. Trust must be earned. While returning to the cage, try presenting further into the cage with the arm. Try to get her comfortable with your presence. Continue to work with her. Good luck.
