Dog has a lip rash after beach trip. Could it be a contact allergy?

Pet's info: Dog | Bernese Mountain Dog | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 5 months old | 26 lbs

Noticed Moose has a rash on his lower lip. No changes in behavior doesn’t seem to be in pain. Saw it the day after we took Moose to the beach (cold- Maine)

Hello, sorry to hear about Moose. It looks like that may be a contact allergy from rubbing his nose and mouth on something that irritated him. You can wipe the area with a damp cloth and make sure it is not getting wider or that Moose is not rubbing his face. If you not any discharge, pain, swelling, or progressive redness and hair loss then have him evaluated by his veterinarian sooner. Otherwise, it should begin to get better within 3-5 days.
