Dog ate dryer sheet, vomited. What signs mean more vet care is needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 70 lbs

9 month old labrador eat half of a new unused dryer sheet. Called emergency vet, they said induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide. She threw up, seems normal now. Anything I should watch out for. I know making them throw up with peroxide is controversial. I gave her 75mg of ranitidine. She weights 70lbs. Thank you

If she threw up everything she ate, I would just keep an eye on her. You can also pick up her food for a few hours then offer a bland meal of boiled chicken and rice to help with any GI upset. Signs that something more serious is ongoing can include additional vomiting (beyond the peroxide), bloody vomit or diarrhea (that may indicate GI irritation), sore, painful abdomen, or attempting to vomit or have diarrhea without success. If you do see these signs, bringing Vega into your vet for care is best.
