Why is my cat limping with a painful leg lump? What could it be?

Today my cat is not feeling well, it seems he can't move the way he use to, his having trouble moving, i discovered a half inch non movable rounded lump at the back of his back leg, and it seems to be painfull when i touch it, What could it be?

To evaluate the mass, a small needle to collect a sample of cells to evaluate under the microscope. An infection under the skin known as an abscess can be painful.
