My cat ate a mouse with green guts. Do I need to take her to the vet?

Hello, my cat recently killed a mouse and ate some of it I noticed it’s guts were green? Should I take my cat to the vet she ate some of it

Hello, sorry to hear about your cat. Some guts in mice and other rodents may appear green due to their billirubin secretion. The biggest concern for cats that kill and eat mice is indirect ingestion of rat bait. If there is rat bait set out in your house or neighborhood then I would indeed have your veterinarian assess his bloodwork to ensure his clotting factors are normal. If you see any bruising or spontaneous bleeding please have your cat evaluated immediately. Hope this helps and best of luck.
