My dog smells worse after bathing. Is it a skin allergy or infection?

I gave Hunter bath a couple days ago and I put him in his kennel every night before I go to bed and he has a rug in there that he sleeps on and he stinks like his fur just stinks and I gave him a bath and every time I give him a bath and then com him after it just stinks worse so I don't know exactly what to do. Is it possible that he's allergic to the rug or the shampoo that I'm using. Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 2 years and 1 month old | 90 lbs

While I doubt it's directly related to the rug or shampoo I do find that dogs with underlying skin allergies can tend to smell, especially if they have fungal skin infections. Sometimes I'll recommend trying a medicated shampoo. I'd recommend having your vet examine Hunter to make sure he doesn't have a skin infection or other evidence of allergies.
