My bird's chirping, not eating, gaining weight. Is she egg-bound?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 95 lbs

-She has been calling/chirping non stop for the past 2 or 3 days. -At the same time she hasnt been eating and yet gained weight by 2-3 grams (she has been gaining weight for a while now). -poo is liquidy, greenish. -Still flies and cuddles though. -Hormonal lately (we try our best to prevent triggering it) Might she have an egg on the way? And might it be stuck? What should we do?

Thanks for reaching out about Luna. Not eating is the main concern, as even if hormonal, should be eating. The weight gain could be fecal/urine retention, or water weight since not eating. If egg bound is worrisome, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Try offering food by hand. Provide heat support in the 80-85 F range for aid. Good luck.
