My 4-month-old puppy's groin skin is darkening. What should I do?

Hello. We just adopted a lab/shepherd mix puppy. he is 4 months old. we notices that his skin close to the groin area is darkening. what can we do about it

It could be dirt. Try wiping the area with a pet wipe or a plain, unscented baby wipe. If that doesn't help, it could be minor irritation or inflammation. Keep the area clean and dry. Use an e-collar (cone) on him if he is licking excessively. Normal pigmentation is also a possibility. If the changes continue, have him physically examined by your veterinarian.
