My rabbit has E. cuniculi. Is her urine contagious, and for how long?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 17 days old | 1.65 lbs

12/30/19 Vet DX with URI, TX enrofloxacin 0.55 ml PO bid (20 mg/ml) for 14 days 1/8/20 she presented with head tilt. Weight 732 g. Vet DX: head tilt, DFDX: Encephalitizoan cuniculi, TX meloxicam 0.37 ml PO sid (2mg/ml) for 14 days, and panacur 0.15 ml PO sid (100mg/ml) for 30 days. How long is her urine considered to be "infectious"?

Thanks for reaching out about Jasmine. The urine is not necessarily infected as this often occur in later stages of the infestation, and possibly never reached the kidneys. There is a urine PCR test for this parasite, but can only determine if being shed at that time. The current treatment appears appropriate for the diagnosis. Good luck.
