Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | 45 lbs
My Male and female bullies where playing yesterday and the male was chasing the female and then she would chase him. Suddenly he stopped and whimpered for a second and then he sat down quickly. he then would walk a few steps and sit down again. This morning I iced his right hind thigh. it looks a little swollen but when I let him out this morning he chased a squirl in the yard at full speed. In conclusion, he normally likes to jump up on me to get his head petted. He will not do that!

Since Cain can't talk, only a physical exam will be able to determine the source of the lameness. Just like people, the pain/limping can be related to many causes including a ligament tears, soft tissue injury, a developmental abnormality or even a spinal issue. You may try strict rest for a few days (no walks, running, jumping or stairs). If Cain does not improve, have him examined by the veterinarian. He may need radiographs and the doctor will determine this based on the exam. I hope he starts feeling better quickly.
