i found my dog about 4 weeks ago. the first 3 weeks she was always lazy. she could sleep the whole day if i let her. her food and water would stay there the whole day and she would hardly touch it. now, she gained a lot of weight in the tummy all of a sudden, she eats all the time, drinks a lot of water but still sleeps a lottt. her nipples are puffy but not saggy. is there a possibility she could be pregnant? There is always a possibility of any female dog who is not spayed for pregnancy. I recommend to have your pup examined by the veterinarian. She looks small and so it would be recommended to take a radiograph to see if puppies are present or not. Small breed dogs are more prone to problems giving birth so it is important to know how many puppies to expect. She likely is not caught up on vaccines or anything either if you have not had her examined yet so you need to discuss the preventive care that she needs to keep her and the puppies healthy if she is pregnant.
