My cat has Parvo. What home care can I give for diarrhea and recovery?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 8.598 lbs

Hi there. My cat has Parvo but symptoms weren’t bad enough to be admitted to vet clinic. I’m caring for him at home. He’s alert, eating, drinking. Not vomiting, he does have diarrhoea but it’s not very runny, it’s thick and brown. He’s gone 3 times in 15 hours. His butt does look red and like there’s a sore there. I’ve been giving him anti biotic, vit c + other multi vitamins. What else can I do? Do you think he’s on the mend or it’s going to get worse? I did the skin hydration check he’s fine

It sounds like you are doing just fine with him. I really can't say if he is on the mend or not without examining him myself but he does not sound that sick so that is good. Remember these things take time; it has only been 15 hours. There is nothing else I would recommend you do; the treatment plan sounds fine. Best wishes. I hope Ezra is back to 100% soon.
